What started as an Apple IOS in 2009 is now a regular fixture in every smartphone, there is news about it being released for film or TV series, and not to mention the tons of merchandise that feature its characters in the market today. With over 350 million downloads across all platforms including both regular and special editions, what contributed to the game’s popularity is its successful combination of addictive gameplay, comical style, and low price.

The game is also easy to play – all the player has to do is turn different species of scowling birds into projectiles to crush a collection of grunting pigs scattered around various ramshackle structures using a slingshot. That easy, and at 99-cent per download, the Finnish company that created the game is now wading in billions of cash.
